Tigers BEAT Washington State at Paradise Jam Championship

The fifth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team capped off a dominant showing at the Paradise Jam Reef Division with a resounding 112–35 victory over Washington State in Saturday night’s championship game at the Elridge Wilburn Blake Sports and Fitness Center on the University of the Virgin Islands campus.

The win marked yet another 100-point performance for LSU, extending its NCAA-record streak of consecutive games scoring 100 or more points to eight. Under head coach Kim Mulkey, the Tigers also improved to a perfect 10–0 all-time in Thanksgiving tournaments.

LSU’s 77-point margin of victory was the largest in program history away from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and the fourth-largest overall, with all four coming over the past three seasons. The Tigers improved to 8–0 on the season, while Washington State fell to 1–7.

Seven Tigers reached double figures, led by senior Flau’jae Johnson with 16 points. Jada Richard added a career-high 14 points, while ZaKiyah Johnson, Amiya Joyner, Mikaylah Williams, Grace Knox, and MiLaysia Fulwiley each finished with 12. Joyner also recorded her second consecutive double-double, pulling down 12 rebounds to go with her scoring effort.

LSU was efficient on both ends of the floor, shooting 56.3% (40-of-71) from the field and 56.3% (9-of-16) from three-point range. The Tigers dominated the glass with a 52–15 rebounding advantage and held Washington State to just 27.1% shooting.

The Tigers jumped out to a commanding 29–8 lead after the first quarter, fueled by a 16–2 opening run and suffocating defense. LSU continued to build momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Cougars 25–9 to take a 54–17 lead into halftime.

LSU’s dominance only intensified after the break. From the 4:51 mark of the third quarter to the 0:53 mark of the fourth, the Tigers rattled off 44 unanswered points. LSU outscored Washington State 58–18 in the second half to seal the championship.

Across its two games at the 2025 Paradise Jam, LSU totaled 225 points while allowing just 88.

The Tigers return to action Thursday, Dec. 4, when they travel to Durham, N.C., to face Duke inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. CT and will air on ESPN as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge.
