Select Super Showcase / Midwest Summer Classic

With tournaments occurring back-to-back, the gym buzzed with nonstop activity. Collegiate programs flowed in and out like a revolving door, with evaluators, scouts and media moving from court to court, assessing talent and taking notes on a wealth of emerging prospects. The expectations were high, the energy in the building was electric, and one word resonated throughout the weekend — OPPORTUNITY.
Once again, Select Events launched another NCAA Live Period with great enthusiasm, providing a premier atmosphere that attracted college programs on ALL LEVELS from across the country. This platform created a unique opportunity between the three leagues (P24 - Select40 - Elite40) which offered a plethora of talent for college recruiters to evaluate, placing itself in the conversation as the best independent circuit in the country.
The Super Showcased welcomed national talent, marquee matchups, and head-to-head duels that exceeded expectations. The gym was filled with talent, which included several players from the ESPNW Top 25 rankings.
Class of 2026
Class of 2027 #1 Kaleena Smith #7 Mica Ojo #9 Eve Long #12 Lauren Hassle #13 Miciah Fusiler. These prospects demonstrated their athletic prowess, potential and a competitive nature, proving that the pipeline of talent in women's basketball is in good hands.
Is Playing Up the New Normal ? — If So These Young Hoopers are doing so and thriving.
The trend of younger prospects competing in older divisions is no longer an exception — it’s somewhat the standard. Instead of backing down, these young prospects are rising to the occasion.Their skill sets are up to par and their mentality screams,“I belong here.”
Here are a few names who didn’t just survive — they dominated, displayed consistency along with a high-level of production.
LoveLei Best '28 - ML20
Dynamic point guard with elite pace, instincts, and high IQ. A poised, three-level scorer with Elite vision consistently showed up in clutch moments. High level decision making and multiple stat-stuffing performances, she’s clearly built for the big stage—Positioned herself to crack the 2028 rankings.
Top 10 PG regardless of class.

28’ Jhaliani Guy - Mac Irvin Fire
A tough nosed, skilled combo guard who thrives off the bounce—whether attacking the rim or pulling up in the midrange, it's pure. A confident shooter and hard nose defender, she brings rare intensity and focus for an underclassman. Currently Ranked #19 in the Class of 2028 (ESPNW).
Shot selection is an area of improvement - Overall Elite talent

28' Faith Watson - Books and Basketball
An extremely physical post player with a high motor. She searches out contact and is very effective on the boards in and out of her area. A bruiser with a solid base, finishes in traffic. A few A10, MEAC and CAA programs have already tapped in.
’28 Amel Cook - Team G
Elite athlete with size, length, and bounce—Amel is a prototypical combo guard with top-tier upside. A fluid scorer with a high-release jumper, she also defends 1–5, alters shots, and disrupts passing lanes. Currently ranked #6 nationally (ESPNW).
As her handle tightens and strength builds, The sky's the limit for this West Coast native.

28' Jayla Lackey - ML20
A powerful, high-motor forward with great body control and soft hands—she catches everything in traffic and finishes through contact with ease. She runs the floor with purpose, establishes deep seals early, and brings a strong rebounding presence.
Developing her face-up game and a consistent 10–12 foot jumper, elevates her stock.

29’ Angelina Medlock - True Texas
A physical guard with ability to finish through contact with either hand, played off two feet on drives and used her pivot effectively around the rim. A smooth midrange and reliable three-point shot to complement - a true three-level scorer, she made a clear statement as one of the most complete guards in her class.
Look to see more pace added to repertoire which will further enhance value;

29’ Legend Tyler- Team G
Arguably one of the most athletic guards in the P24 16U division, Legend is electric in transition. She is elusive with elite agility and finishes at the rim with either hand at a high rate. She is shifty with elite agility. Her speed, body control, and stop-and-go burst made her a nightmare to defend.
A consistent jump shot to complement her downhill explosiveness is the next step.

29’ Chloe Cain - Colorado Hoopsters
Chloe Cain has a high school-ready frame and a unique skill set that makes her one of Colorado’s top guards. She handles the ball with confidence, creates chances for teammates, a tough guard driving to the rim with strength, a reliable pull-up.
Increased range would raise her stock. A name to know in the Class of 2029.

29’ Leila Bryant- East Coast Elite
A young guard with a major game, Leila showed poise at the 17u level. With a tight handle and great balance, she excelled in manipulation screens. A legit three-point threat, she gave defenses fits. Defensively gritty, she pressured full court, fought through screens, giving opposing guards headaches. Buy stock now !

29’ Paris Wilson - AEBL
A crafty guard from AEBL stable, elite quickness and tight ball control. Always in attack mode. Great vision and a real threat from deep, solid midrange and can finish around the cup-Kid got the tools. A disruptive defender, she impacts both ends of the floor.
As she continues to learn the game she could be one of the best young guards coming out of the state of Georgia.

30’ Trinity Boyd - True Texas
A fearless young guard playing three grades up — doing it seamlessly. Her athleticism and speed levels the playing field. A scrappy defender, with elite anticipation. Offensively she lived in the lanes with a nice touch. In transition, she’s a nightmare to defend — a creative, in-air finisher with a true jumper that keeps defenses honest.
Without question, I foresee Top 10 in the Class of 2030 in her future.

30' Claire Stoops - Indiana Basketball Club
Young lefty PG plays with poise, passion and a high IQ. She scores at all levels, creates space off the bounce and knocks down tough shots. Plays with pace, reads screens well, and her intensity impacts the game. Currently holds multiple D1 offers
One of the most complete guards in Class.

Few prospects, I suggest you track going into their prospective High School seasons.
27’ Kendra Foy - IBelieve
Big wing with athleticism and elevation combined-high release on jump shot. Slasher with blow by ability and size to back down smaller guards. Defends perimeter well and a high level finisher in transition. NIce upside, already holds D1 multiple offers.
28’ Jenelle Solis - Team Norcal
Elite lefty combo guard, shifty handles and play making ability - excels in PNR. A Big time shooter, when she is shot searching watch out. Mid majors should get in early on this one.
29’ Geraldyn Byers - Veal - Southwest Select
A slasher at 6’1 with play making ability, great length, athleticism and elevation. Excels in transition and is an attentive defender. Gonna be a household name in the next year or two.
