Atlanta, Ga. A lot of young talent came out to compete, learn, and have fun over this past weekend. Players from 3rd-8th grade definitely showcased a solid skill set that earned them an invite to the All-Star game.
Madi Shirley - 7th grade - good size, handles the ball well, made some nice moves to the basket and finished at the rim.
Sofia Horato - 8th grade - athletic PG, quick and plays good defense. Has good handles and can penetrate the lanes and get passed defenders.
Ma'Liyah Ivey - 8th grade - Strong, and athletic build, can get to the rim, rebound very well, good size, and is versatile at her position.
Brynlee Smith - 5th grade - Crafty point guard with nice handles, can get to the basket and finish, good court vision and makes good passes.
Morgna Givens - 6th grade - Active on both ends of the floor, makes good decisions with the ball, team player, has good court vision, and handles the ball well.
Jordyn Brooks - 6th grade - Handles the ball really well, had some nice moves attacking the basket, plays hard on both ends of the floor.
Chelsea Burns - 6th grade - Has great energy and hustles back on defense. Had some nice moves and a nice jump shot. Played very well.
Amari Keller - 8th grade - Crafty point guard that can euro step her way around the basket. Athletic and quick, handles the ball well and plays aggressive.
Ava Jackson 7th grade - Has good handles, can get to the basket and use her strength, good court awareness and made good passes, has a very good skill set.
Rae Davis - 8th grade - Lights out, could not miss, can really shoot the ball from mid-range to outside.
Kiley Avila - 5th grade - Sharp PG that can finish tough shots at the rim. Has good ball handling skills, and plays both ends of the floor. Like her intensity.
Kailyn Reese - 6th grade - Hustler on defense with active hands, was able to get several steals. Handles the ball well and can penetrate the lanes.
Morgan Johnson - 7th grade- Strong guard that uses her body well in the post. Versatile player that can also handle the ball and get buckets.
