Dallas Wings Still Winless

The Atlanta Dream pulled away in the second half to defeat the Dallas Wings 83-75 on May 24, improving to 2-2 on the season and handing Dallas its fourth straight loss.
Allisha Gray led all scorers with 27 points, while Brionna Jones posted a dominant double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Brittney Griner also contributed 15 points and seven rebounds, helping Atlanta seize control before halftime and build a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
After trailing early, the Dream closed the second quarter on a 13-4 run, sparked by Gray and Griner, to take a 37-30 lead at the break. Griner tied the game with a layup, and Gray followed with two free throws to ignite the surge.
Atlanta pushed its lead to double digits early in the third quarter with a layup from Jones, eventually extending the advantage to 68-50 heading into the fourth. Although Dallas mounted a brief 15-2 run to pull within 70-65 with just over five minutes remaining, they were unable to close the gap further.
The Dream shared the ball effectively, racking up 23 assists on 29 made field goals and shooting 42.6% from the field.
For Dallas, NaLyssa Smith led with 13 points, while Maddy Siegrist added 12 off the bench. No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers was held to 11 points, and reserves Tyasha Harris and Teaira McCowan chipped in 10 points each. The Wings’ starting unit struggled, shooting just 13-of-47 (27.6%) from the field and 36.6% overall as a team.
The Wings will also face the Sun in their next outing on May 27.
