Dallas' Lincoln High School girls' basketball team is on the brink of a state championship, but they’re preparing for the biggest games of the season without their head coach.

The Lady Tigers will take on Waco La Vega in the UIL 4A state tournament on Friday, determined to bring home the title.

During Wednesday’s open practice and media availability, the absence of their coach was noticeable, but it didn’t shake their confidence. For this poised and self-assured team, playing in the Alamodome is a thrill—but winning a state championship there is the real goal.

Before heading to San Antonio, the Lady Tigers will receive a celebratory send-off on Thursday morning. They’ll take the court for the semifinal on Friday, with hopes of advancing to Saturday’s championship game.
