With their season hanging in the balance, San Antonio Brennan relied heavily on their standout sophomore player.

Bella Flemings, recognized as one of the top-rated underclassmen prospects nationwide, rose to the occasion.

Flemings delivered an astonishing career-high performance, amassing 47 points and hitting crucial shots throughout, guiding San Antonio Brennan (32-3) to a berth in the Texas high school girls state tournament next week.

In a thrilling overtime showdown, she sunk a game-tying shot at the buzzer, propelling Brennan into double-overtime where they ultimately triumphed over Clark, 80-73, in a clash between San Antonio powerhouses. Now, the Bears advance to the state tournament following a nail-biting double-overtime victory over defending 6A state champion Clark in the Texas high school girls basketball regional final in San Antonio.

This win serves as redemption for Brennan, avenging last year's 57-38 defeat to Clark in the same round. Flemings, who entered the game with impressive averages of 15.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.2 steals per game, showcased her exceptional talent when it mattered most.

Despite only scoring two points against Clark in last year's regional final, Flemings approached this game with a different mindset. Brennan surged ahead with an 11-2 run to close out the second quarter, fueled by the contributions of senior guard T'iara Louis, who netted six points including two critical 3-pointers.

The Bears also benefited from Ross, who tallied 17 points and initiated the run with a basket over Clark's Arianna Roberson. However, the 6-foot-4 Duke signee, Roberson, managed to foul Ross out by the end of the second quarter. Roberson attempted to rally Clark in the third quarter, scoring the team's first six points, but it was Brennan's senior guard Tyra Sotelo who seized the spotlight. Sotelo notched 10 points in the third quarter, propelling the Bears on an 18-2 run.

Sotelo's pivotal four-point play ignited the Northside Sports Gym with excitement. However, Clark staged a remarkable comeback, draining four consecutive 3-pointers to narrow Brennan's lead to 52-45 with 6:08 remaining in the fourth quarter. Huff, scoring 13 of her 22 points in the final quarter, spearheaded the Cougars' charge, bringing them within three points with under three minutes left.

A flurry of traded 3-pointers from both Clark and Brennan forced the game into overtime, deadlocked at 62. In the ensuing double-overtime, Roberson led the charge for Clark, scoring the period's first four points and staunchly defending the paint.

Yet, Flemings refused to be denied in double overtime, single-handedly securing victory for the Bears with eight crucial points.
