In a close contested match up that finished in overtime, Cal lost to No. 23 Gonzaga 78-70. The Bears were so close to pulling an upset in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.

The Bears had possession with 31.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter of a tie game. However, the Bears were unable to get a good shot off before time expired.

Gonzaga's win at Haas Pavilion left no opportunity for Cal to upset a team that had defeated No. 3 Stanford by 18 points on Sunday on the Zags' home court.

Gonzaga moves on to 9-2 while Cal drops down to 7-2.

Williams finished with 10 points, and McIntosh had 13 points and 11 assists, but had a high seven turnovers. Marta Suarez finished with a team-high 19 points.

Gonzaga stayed in the game by dominating the paint and grabbing rebounds. The Zags finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds to just six for Cal. Gonzaga's Yvonne Ejim led all scorers with 21 points.
