The first ever Nike Hoop Summit for girls was a smashing success, featuring top-notch players from all over the country. Held on April 8, 2023, at Portland's Moda Center, the game lived up to its hype as the USA Team emerged victorious, beating the World Team 100-79.

Among the standout players for Team USA were Madison Booker, Breya Cunningham, Hannah Hidalgo, Jada Williams, Sunaja Agara, Mikaylah Williams, Watkins, and Donovan, all of whom had previously won a FIBA U17 Women's World Cup gold medal in Hungary the year before.

But it was Mikaylah Williams, a committed LSU player, who stole the show, sinking six of seven three-pointers and leading her team with 22 points and five rebounds. KK Arnold, a future UConn Husky, also impressed with her finesse and ability to penetrate the defense, scoring 10 points.

The World Team put up a strong fight, with Australian Shaneice Swain draining three of eight three-pointers and scoring 19 points, while Canadian Toby Fournier's seven points in the second quarter helped keep the game close. She finished the game with 18 points.

Despite the World Team's 11 blocked shots, the USA's 15 steals and the World Team's 26 turnovers proved too much to overcome.

Overall, the game was a shining example of the growth of girls' basketball and the promise of many bright stars to come. Fans can't wait to see what the future holds for these talented players.
